A simple stop ?

This is where I should write about me I guess. Well, I don't know where to begin, nor what to write as a start, but maybe as my wife tells me sometimes :
"Aldo, You think way too much, just throw the pictures you like, comment them as you feel, and let it be, it's your blog do as you want ! "

Right, right...And now you know my name's Aldo, that I'm married (to a wonderful woman, wife and friend), and that I think too much. That should be a start, kwowing also that I'm currently 32 33 34 years old (I'll change the entry as soon as I'll reach 33 34 35, so keep looking for this thrilling update !).

Now, let's work on more details about this new photoblog among the thousands already online...What will it be about ?

Honestly : I don't know yet. But I believe this will also depend on how people will interact with it, adding their comments, thoughts and impressions.

My initial idea was to post only pictures from my several travels in Japan, and this may be the case for the first ones. But other subjects and themes will keep this photoblog alive, from here Geneva where I live, to Japan, Italy, Sweden and other travels around the world where I feel nostalgic.

I'll take you along my photographic quest initiated many years ago. A quest with no chances to succeed if you'd ask me, but it sure feels good to walk along its path.

What I like to picture, to feel and transmit through my photography is this subtle moment of anachronism, a shift of time you may already encountered. This may be in any place but mostly well hidden and lasting just a few seconds. So, from to Tokyo to Paris, I'll try to confuse you, showing these spots out of time as I encounter them.

If you find yourself asking "when ?" then, welcome to my ship ! We're heading north, south, east and west as you wish, my only beacon being travelling back in time. My only regret is that I'll be the one who will never be fooled by myself nor by my memory (I told you this was a difficult quest ;)

Oh yes, I almost forgot, it's usual to give some information about the gear used for taking the shots. So, here it is : One of my best non-alive friend , is a good Nikon F-100 loaded with a MB-15 grip leaving me with a bone broken neck depending from the attached lenses. Also, a funny plastic Holga toy camera, a D-70 a couple of old Yashica's and tons of Fuji's Neopan 400 rolls (it's cheap, it's good and you can easily push it to 1600 with excellent results !). If this sounded too short or wanted more technical details, just mail me , I'll try to answer back.

Also, as you will probably see along this photoblog, there will be from time to time some music references, as I like to add some musical background and mood to my pictures. If you're lucky enough to have the songs near you, I can only recommend you to listen to them when looking at the pictures. And, more than that, please feel free to add your own music recommendation in a comment, this would be a very nice contribution to the photoblog, to my quest, to our journey.

If you're guessing about the theme to this "all about me" page, I'd say that this journey should begin with the following :

A horse with no name - America

enjoy...

I will eventually put some information about myself or my photography here. For now, please just enjoy the photos.
